What Are Companion Cards?
Beyond your personal deck, there's a shared Ally Deck containing Companion Cardsâcards representing NPCs your party has bonded with, including additional Netghosts you've befriended.
Ally Cards don't reside in any single player's deck. They're shared resources, gained through Bond Scenes (moments where the story focuses on an NPC and how the players help them through their journey).
Using Companion Cards
Crossfielding
When an Ally is present in the scene, you can spend 1 Positive Token to Crossfield their cardâadding it to your play area as a fifth card. Only one Ally Card can be Crossfielded at a time.
Crossbonding
If an Ally isn't physically present, you can still call upon your bond with them through Crossbonding. This also costs 1 Positive Token, but the card only stays in play for one turn before returning to the Ally Deck.
NPCs can have a resource called Cheerâa measure of their disposition toward the party, tracked by the Facilitator. Cheer is built through the Connect Downtime Activity and through Bond Scenes. When an NPC with Cheer is present in a scene, their Cheer can be spent by the Facilitator to replace any other resource cost for the players (including the Positive Token cost for Crossfielding).
