Tamer Cards

"Eight paths. Eight identities. Which one calls to you?"

What Are Tamer Cards?

Your Tamer card—also called your Hero card—defines who you are as a human being. It's the anchor of your character, representing your core identity, your fundamental approach to life, and the lens through which you see the world.

Every player has exactly one Tamer card, built on one of eight Types. This card belongs to the Soul Aspect, representing the human spirit and the choices that define us.

Choosing Your Type

Your Tamer Type isn't about optimal builds or mechanical advantage. It's about playing a character whose core fantasy resonates with you. Do you want to be the inspiring leader (Sun)? The passionate artist who burns bright (Fire)? The survivor who refuses to break (Wood)? Choose the Type that excites you narratively.

The Eight Tamer Types

☀️ Type: SUN

The Leader • Justice • Shows the Other Cheek • Burning Conviction • Everyone's Hero • Blinding Light

Who You Are

You are the one who steps forward when everyone else steps back. The one who speaks up when silence would be easier. You have this light inside you—this certainty that things should be better, that people deserve better, that you can make it better if you just try hard enough. People look at you and see hope. They follow you because you make them believe that heroism isn't dead, that standing up matters, that good can triumph.

But here's the thing about burning that bright: you can't always see what's in your shadow. You're so focused on being the light that you might miss what others actually need. Your justice is absolute—and absolutes don't leave room for the messy, complicated truth of how people actually are.

The Fantasy You're Playing

Sun is for players who want to be the hero. Not "a" hero—"the" hero. The one who rallies the team, who stands against injustice, who makes the hard choice to do the right thing even when it costs everything. You're playing someone who believes in ideals and fights to make them real.

How You Play

Sun-types excel at inspiring others, standing firm under pressure, and pursuing justice even when the odds are against them. Your Tags will often relate to leadership, conviction, protection of the innocent, and unwavering principles. You shine brightest when you're defending something or someone worth fighting for.

Your challenge is handling situations where the "right" answer isn't clear, where your absolute principles clash with messy reality, or when being the hero means accepting help instead of being the one who saves everyone else.

Example Tags

  • Main Tag: "Justice for those who can't fight for themselves"
  • Positive Tags: "Inspires hope in people who've given up" / "Trained in combat to protect the weak" / "Voice that cuts through chaos and brings order"
  • Negative Tags: "Can't accept compromise when principles are at stake" / "Alienates people who can't live up to my standards"

Relationship with Your Netghost

Your bond with your Netghost is probably built on shared ideals—a mutual commitment to something greater than yourselves. But can your Netghost be imperfect around you? Can you be imperfect around them? Sometimes the greatest act of heroism is admitting you don't have all the answers.

⭐ Type: STARS

The Witch • Knows Too Much • Nose in Wrong Places • Escaped with Tail Between Legs • Forbidden Knowledge • Curiosity's Price

Who You Are

You can't leave well enough alone. Every locked door is an invitation. Every secret is a challenge. Every warning that says 'don't look' makes you look harder. You've seen things that would shatter most people—glimpses of truth that lurk behind the comfortable lies the world tells itself. And you're still here, still digging, still hungry to know more.

This makes you dangerous. Not because you're violent, but because knowledge is power, and you have so much of it. You know things about people they've never told anyone. You know how systems really work. You know where the bodies are buried—sometimes literally. The price? You've learned that some truths don't make you free. Some truths make you a target.

The Fantasy You're Playing

Stars is for players who want to be the investigator, the occultist, the one who knows secrets. You're playing someone who pursues forbidden knowledge, who can't resist mysteries, and who pays the cost of knowing things they probably shouldn't.

How You Play

Stars-types excel at investigation, uncovering secrets, recognizing lies, and accessing hidden information. Your Tags will often relate to research skills, forbidden knowledge, investigative techniques, and dangerous curiosity. You shine when there's a mystery to solve or a truth to uncover.

Your challenge is knowing when to stop digging, dealing with the consequences of the truths you discover, and managing the danger that comes from knowing too much.

Example Tags

  • Main Tag: "Uncovered the truth about the Data Sea's corruption"
  • Positive Tags: "Can find information others think is impossible to get" / "Studied forbidden texts that most fear to read" / "Notice when people are lying or hiding something"
  • Negative Tags: "Haunted by truths I wish I could forget" / "Corporate agents want me silenced for what I know"

Relationship with Your Netghost

Your bond with your Netghost might be built on shared secrets, on being the only ones who know certain truths. But are there things you've hidden even from your partner? Does your Netghost fear what you might uncover about them? Trust requires vulnerability, and vulnerability requires accepting that some questions should remain unasked.

🔥 Type: FIRE

Perseverance • Burning Artist • Passionate Biker • Burn Bright or Burn Out • Intensity Incarnate • Heart on Sleeve

Who You Are

You feel everything at full volume. When you love something, you love it with your whole body. When you're angry, the room knows it. When you commit to something—a project, a person, a cause—you throw yourself into it until there's nothing left to give. Some people call this reckless. Some people call it inspiring. You call it the only way you know how to be.

Half-measures feel like lies. Holding back feels like dying slowly. So you burn, bright and hot and impossible to ignore. The question isn't whether you'll make an impact—it's whether you'll have anything left when the fire dies down. And it always dies down eventually. That's when you find out what you're really made of.

The Fantasy You're Playing

Fire is for players who want to be intense, passionate, all-in on everything they do. You're the artist who creates until exhaustion, the athlete who pushes past every limit, the lover who gives everything to those they care about. You live without a dimmer switch.

How You Play

Fire-types excel at passionate dedication, pushing through exhaustion, inspiring others with intensity, and creating powerful emotional connections. Your Tags will often relate to your chosen passion (art, sport, music, etc.), your ability to endure, and the physical or emotional intensity you bring to everything.

Your challenge is managing burnout, dealing with the crash after intensity fades, and learning that sustainable commitment sometimes means pacing yourself instead of burning everything at once.

Example Tags

  • Main Tag: "Street artist whose murals speak truth to power"
  • Positive Tags: "Pour my entire soul into every piece I create" / "Physically expressive—my whole body shows what I feel" / "Inspire others to care as deeply as I do"
  • Negative Tags: "Crash hard when the passion fades and I'm left empty" / "Burned someone I loved by caring too intensely"

Relationship with Your Netghost

Your bond with your Netghost is probably the most intense relationship in your life. You give them everything, and you expect the same in return. But can you be quiet together? Can you exist without the heat? Sometimes the strongest flames are the ones that know how to become coals—still hot, still alive, but sustainable.

⚡ Type: THUNDER

The Wizard • Lightning Rhetoric • Bookworm with Teeth • Lonely Intellectual • Words as Weapons • Brilliant Isolation

Who You Are

You've always lived in your head. While other kids were playing, you were reading. While others were partying, you were researching. You've built a fortress of knowledge up there, complete with logical battlements and rhetorical murder holes. When you speak, people listen—not because you're loud, but because you're right, and you can prove it.

Your mind is your greatest weapon. You can argue anyone into a corner, explain anything to anyone, solve problems others can't even formulate. But fortresses can become prisons. All that knowledge doesn't keep you warm at night. All those victories in debate don't mean you have anyone to celebrate with. You know how to win arguments. You're still learning how to make friends.

The Fantasy You're Playing

Thunder is for players who want to be the genius, the strategist, the one who solves problems through brilliance rather than brawn. You're playing someone whose greatest strength is their intellect and whose greatest weakness is that same brilliance creating distance from others.

How You Play

Thunder-types excel at analysis, planning, debate, teaching, and solving complex problems. Your Tags will often relate to your field of expertise, your ability to learn and explain, and the power of your mind. You shine when there's a puzzle to solve or an argument to win.

Your challenge is connecting emotionally, accepting when being right isn't more important than being kind, and learning that some truths can't be argued into existence—they have to be felt.

Example Tags

  • Main Tag: "Digital architecture expert who understands the Data Sea's structure"
  • Positive Tags: "Can explain complex ideas so clearly anyone understands" / "Research process that uncovers connections others miss" / "Stay calm and think clearly when others panic"
  • Negative Tags: "Being right cost me more friends than being wrong ever would" / "Use logic to avoid dealing with how I actually feel"

Relationship with Your Netghost

Your bond with your Netghost might be built on mutual respect—they admire your intellect, you value their perspective. But can you be wrong around them? Can you admit when you don't know something? The smartest thing you might ever learn is that some things can't be reasoned into existence.

💨 Type: WIND

Freedom • Rebel in Detention • Street Singer • Can't Be Caged • Live Free or Die Trying • Restless Spirit

Who You Are

The moment someone tells you 'no,' you need to know why. The moment someone builds a wall, you need to know what's on the other side. You can't help it—you weren't built to follow rules that don't make sense, to accept limits that exist just because someone said so. This makes you trouble. Teachers hate you. Authority figures watch you like you're about to explode. And honestly? They're not wrong. You probably are about to explode, if one more person tries to put you in a box.

But here's the thing about fighting every cage: eventually you have to figure out if you're running toward something or just running away. Freedom means nothing if you don't know what to do with it.

The Fantasy You're Playing

Wind is for players who want to be the rebel, the free spirit who can't be tamed or controlled. You're playing someone who values freedom above comfort, who questions every rule, and who'd rather risk everything than accept a cage.

How You Play

Wind-types excel at escaping constraints, inspiring rebellion, surviving on their own terms, and finding freedom in unexpected places. Your Tags will often relate to breaking rules, questioning authority, independence, and the pursuit of liberation.

Your challenge is distinguishing between necessary rebellion and running from responsibility, building something instead of just tearing down, and discovering that true freedom might include choosing to stay somewhere because you want to, not because you have to.

Example Tags

  • Main Tag: "Can't be caged—escaped from corporate control program"
  • Positive Tags: "Parkour expert who moves through the city like it's open air" / "Inspire others to question the rules they've accepted" / "Survive independently when systems fail"
  • Negative Tags: "Lost meaningful relationships because I couldn't stay in one place" / "Call responsibility a cage to avoid commitment"

Relationship with Your Netghost

Your bond with your Netghost is probably based on mutual independence—you don't cage each other, you choose to run together. But is there anything you'd stay for? Anyone you'd build something permanent with? The deepest freedom might not be the ability to leave—it might be the choice to stay, and mean it.

💧 Type: WATER

The Apothecary • The Healer • Remembers Every Name • Flows Around Obstacles • Quiet Strength • Everyone's Safe Harbor

Who You Are

You notice things about people. The way they hold their shoulders when they're stressed. The foods they avoid because they remind them of bad times. The questions they never ask because they're afraid of the answers. You remember. You care. And somehow, you always know what someone needs—a word of comfort, a practical solution, a cup of tea, or just someone who'll sit with them in the dark.

This is a gift. It's also exhausting. You pour so much of yourself into others that sometimes you forget to leave anything for yourself. People come to you with their problems, but who do you go to with yours? The healer is always the last to be healed.

The Fantasy You're Playing

Water is for players who want to be the caretaker, the healer, the one everyone trusts with their wounds. You're playing someone whose strength is in nurturing, whose power is in flowing around obstacles, and whose challenge is learning to receive care as well as give it.

How You Play

Water-types excel at healing (physical or emotional), creating safe spaces, reading people's needs, and providing support. Your Tags will often relate to caregiving, empathy, medical or emotional knowledge, and the ability to adapt to situations rather than confronting them directly.

Your challenge is avoiding burnout from over-giving, accepting help when you need it, and recognizing when your care enables people instead of helping them grow.

Example Tags

  • Main Tag: "Everyone's safe harbor—the person they come to when hurting"
  • Positive Tags: "Know what someone needs before they ask" / "Trained in field medicine and trauma care" / "Create spaces where people feel safe being vulnerable"
  • Negative Tags: "Given so much there's nothing left for myself" / "Enabled someone by caring for them too much"

Relationship with Your Netghost

Your bond with your Netghost might be one of mutual care, or you might have found someone who finally takes care of you for once. Can you receive as well as you give? Can you be a burden sometimes, trust that you're worth supporting when you need it? The best healers eventually learn that their own wounds matter too.

🌳 Type: WOOD

Resilience • The Tree That Never Fell • Flower Through Concrete • Scarred but Standing • Survivor • Still Here

Who You Are

Look at you. You're still here. After everything—and there has been a lot of everything—you're still standing. Bent, maybe. Scarred, definitely. But not broken. Never broken. People look at you and wonder how you do it. How do you keep getting up? How do you keep going when the universe seems personally invested in knocking you down?

The answer is simple: what else are you going to do? Giving up isn't an option. It never has been. So you endure. You adapt. You find ways to grow even when the soil is poisoned and the sun is blocked. This isn't optimism. This is stubbornness crystallized into a way of life. And sometimes, against all odds, stubborn is exactly what the world needs.

The Fantasy You're Playing

Wood is for players who want to be the survivor, the one who's been through hell and came out the other side. You're playing someone defined by resilience, whose scars are proof they're still fighting, and whose greatest power is refusing to stay down.

How You Play

Wood-types excel at endurance, adaptation, recognizing others who are struggling, and turning hardship into strength. Your Tags will often relate to what you've survived, the resilience you've built, and the wisdom that only comes from suffering.

Your challenge is recognizing when stubbornness becomes self-destruction, accepting help without seeing it as weakness, and remembering that survival isn't the same as living—now that you've proven you can endure anything, what do you actually want?

Example Tags

  • Main Tag: "Survived the corporate wars that destroyed my community"
  • Positive Tags: "Refuse to give up when any reasonable person would" / "Help others find their own resilience and strength" / "Built something meaningful from the ruins of what was destroyed"
  • Negative Tags: "Wounds that refuse to heal no matter how much time passes" / "Stubbornness becomes self-destructive—stay when I should leave"

Relationship with Your Netghost

Your bond with your Netghost might be forged in shared hardship—two survivors recognizing each other. Or maybe your Netghost represents something softer, a safe place you never had. Survival isn't the same as living. What are you surviving for?

⛰️ Type: EARTH

Excellence • The Diligent Monk • Student Beyond Grades • Grinding Gets Results • Effort Over Talent • Steady Progress

Who You Are

You don't believe in shortcuts. While others are looking for the easy way, the hack, the trick that lets them skip ahead, you're putting in the work. Hour after hour. Day after day. You know something they don't: talent is overrated. Natural gifts get you started, but dedication is what carries you to the top.

You've watched 'gifted' people flame out because they never learned to struggle. Meanwhile, you've been struggling your whole life—and you've gotten very, very good at it. This isn't glamorous. Nobody writes songs about the person who practiced scales for six hours a day. But when the moment comes, when everything is on the line, you're ready. You're always ready. Because you put in the work.

The Fantasy You're Playing

Earth is for players who want to be the dedicated master, the one who achieved excellence through sheer persistent effort. You're playing someone who trusts the process, who knows that hard work beats talent, and whose discipline is their superpower.

How You Play

Earth-types excel at disciplines that require practice, maintaining steady progress, teaching others about dedication, and being prepared through rigorous training. Your Tags will often relate to your chosen field of mastery, your training regimen, and the results of sustained effort.

Your challenge is recognizing when grinding harder isn't the answer, avoiding burnout from constant work, and accepting that some problems can't be solved by effort alone—sometimes you need to change approaches or ask for help.

Example Tags

  • Main Tag: "Martial artist who mastered combat through ten thousand hours of practice"
  • Positive Tags: "Daily training routine that's shaped my entire life" / "Push through plateaus when progress seems impossible" / "Built skill from nothing through pure dedication"
  • Negative Tags: "Missed out on relationships while busy training" / "Judge people harshly for not working as hard as I do"

Relationship with Your Netghost

Your bond with your Netghost is probably built on mutual respect—they see how hard you work, and that earns their loyalty. But what happens when hard work isn't enough? When the problem can't be solved by grinding harder? Sometimes excellence means knowing when to change tactics.
