Boons and Banes
For every Cool or Trouble Point spent on a Downtime Activity, you roll a d8. These are your Cool or Trouble dice.
- Cool dice that succeed (5+) grant Boons—good things happen. You might recover Broken Tags, cross paths with helpful friends, or gain resources like Energy Points or Positive Tokens.
- Trouble dice that fail (4 or less) inflict Banes—complications arise. The opposite of Boons: Tags might Break, you might make enemies, or you might lose resources.
The Facilitator typically offers players a couple of options to choose from, maintaining player agency.
